Melanie Ballecer

After years of volleyball, triathlons, and cycling left Melanie with a herniated disc and excruciating sciatica in 2002, she decided to try yoga for the first time to help heal her injury. It gave her a sense of grounding, openness, and relaxation that was incredibly different than any other activity she had experienced. Unfortunately, after a series of health setbacks, she was unable to practice for several years. Fast forward to 2010…feeling better than ever, Melanie remembered her experience with yoga and began dabbling in different forms of it in the Las Vegas community she lived in at the time: Bikram, Vinyasa, Yin, Ashtanga…and love it all. After moving back to her hometown of Fremont, CA in 2012 she began practicing daily and decided to enroll in the 2013 Mind Body Zone 200hr teacher training program. She graduated in June of 2014 and has been a 200 RYT with Yoga Alliance since then. You can find her teaching Yin, Gentle, and Slow Flow classes. She is thrilled to be part of the WY Community in UC!
